Sant Jordi Rock Palace Hostel – Barcelona, Spain

I feel that a lot of people have incorrect stigma about staying at hostels. Yes, some hostels can be dirty and not the best place to stay at. However, many hostels are clean, comfortable, and fun to stay at for a few nights or even eight nights (like what I did in Barcelona).

I booked Sant Jordi Rock Palace Hostel in Barcelona based on reviews that I’ve read online. So many reviews mentioned how clean it is and how the ambiance is a fun one for a hostel. I am happy to report that they are correct.

First, this hostel is located in an area with so many restaurants, bars, & grocery stores nearby.

Second, this hostel is IMMACULATE. It’s so clean and during my stay there for eight nights, I’ve never seen anything dirty or gross.

Third, the theme of this hostel is MUSIC so you will be able to hear so many different music are playing throughout the common area.

Fourth, the staff are very helpful and attentive. I had an issue with the first room I was staying in, the AC was not working and it was super hot. They moved me to a different room with working AC. I also got double charged on my credit card (I booked through Agoda and somehow the hostel charged me as well). It was a quick fix and I got refunded right away. They will help you if you needed help.

Fifth, they have a mini pool on the rooftop! I’ve never heard of a hostel with a rooftop pool. The view is amazing from up there. They also have lounge chairs and the rooftop has the best signal for wifi just fyi.

Sixth, they have activities for some of the nights of the week. Sure, it might be beer pong and go to the beach because this was during pandemic time, but it’s fun!

Seventh, the people that I’ve met here were the nicest, kindest, and fun people I’ve ever met. I stayed in hostels before but I wasn’t able to form connections like how I did here at Sant Jordi Rock Palace. I really miss those nights where we just chatted about everything from travel to dating to tv shows and a lot more.

Thank you, Sant Jordi Rock Palace for giving me a place to stay in a foreign city and I hope someday, our paths will cross again.
